Description

Against thrips

Using beneficial insects against pests is the most biological way of controlling pests. Thrips suck plant sap, causing light-coloured spots and brown edges on plant leaves. The predatory mite of the species Amblyseius cucumeris is a natural antagonist of thrips. It stings young thrips larvae and sucks them dry.

Application:

The Amblyseius predatory mite is 0.5 mm in size, reddish-brown in colour and very agile. This predatory mite can be used to control thrips indoors, in conservatories and greenhouses. The relative humidity should be more than 60%. Amblyseius cucumeris also feeds partly on spider mites.

The predatory mites are supplied in paper bags. These are hung at medium height on the infested plants. Please note! The bags do not need to be additionally perforated or opened. Over a period of 4-5 weeks, the predatory mites gradually leave the bags and go on the hunt for thrips. If necessary, the bags should then be replaced.

10 bags of 500 predatory mites are sufficient for approx. 5 plants (depending on the infestation and size of the plants).
